Proposal Review and Approvals

Proposals submitted through the Center for Health Research (CHR) normally require approval by Northwest Permanente PC and/or Permanente Dental Associates (PDA) and senior CHR leadership, and may require provisional approval by the KPNW IRB (Institutional Review Board). Proposals involving funding from private industry (e.g., pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, etc.) may also require review and approval by the Regional Formulary and Therapeutics Committee and other KP administrative offices prior to submission, as indicated in the CHR Industry Sponsored Proposal checklist (below). CHR must submit all applications for federal and some foundation funding through the Kaiser Foundation Research Institute in Oakland, California several days to a week before the actual proposal due date. All contracts must be reviewed and approved by the CHR Finance Department.  Please allow adequate time (generally four to six weeks) for these required reviews.
