Dr. Naleway is an epidemiologist whose research focuses on
immune-mediated diseases, such as asthma, atopic dermatitis, photodermatitis,
and lupus. She is also interested in infectious disease epidemiology. Dr.
Naleway is an investigator with the CDC-funded Vaccine Safety Datalink, a
national project linking automated medical records data from eight managed care
organizations to monitor vaccine safety.
Dr. Naleway received her MS and PhD in Epidemiology from the University of
Iowa's College of Public Health, where she served as Research Assistant for the
International Study of Unruptured Intracranial Aneurysms, and was a Teaching
Assistant for two courses in epidemiological methods. Dr. Naleway completed a
post-doctoral fellowship in epidemiology at the Marshfield Clinic Research
Foundation, and was an Instructor for the Internal Medical Residency Research
Lecture Series at the Marshfield Clinic.
In addition to being a CHR investigator, Dr. Naleway is a Clinical Assistant
Professor for the Oregon Health and Science University's Department of Public
Health and Preventive Medicine. She also recently served as a member of the
CDC/American Academy of Dermatology Smallpox and Atopic Dermatitis Work Group.
Dr. Naleway is currently a professional member of the Society for Epidemiologic
Research, Lupus Foundation of America, and the Alliance for Lupus Research.
