Dr. Nancy Perrin is an expert in the application of multivariate statistical techniques to health outcomes. Professing an interest in “working with messy data,” she uses a variety of designs and statistical methods in her research. Dr. Perrin specializes in longitudinal data and statistical modeling in current collaborations on a number of NIH-funded studies.
Recently Dr. Perrin has been working with Dr. Adrianne Feldstein to uncover trajectories of weight loss or gain in patients with diabetes or CVD. This project uses longitudinal data analyses to estimate individual weight trajectories and the relationship between these trajectories and future health outcomes. Dr. Perrin is also conducting research with John Hopkins University on support for victims of domestic violence. Specifically, she is developing measures to understand workplace culture toward domestic violence and performing cluster analysis to determine what types of domestic violence support women want from their supervisors.
Dr. Perrin came to CHR from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), where she retains an Adjunct Professor appointment. At OHSU, she was the Director for the Statistical Core, leading a team of Statisticians and Research Associates to support the development of research proposals, data collection protocols, data management, data analysis, and preparation of manuscripts. A former professor and Associate Dean at Portland State University, Dr. Perrin received her BA from University of California, Los Angeles, and her master’s and doctoral degrees from Ohio State University.
