Dr. Douglas Roblin is a Senior Investigator at TCHR whose research
focuses on a broad range of population-based issues. His principal research
interests center on how organizational and financial characteristics affect
patient outcomes. He has over two decades' experience working as a Statistician
and Health Economist in health care organizations.
Dr. Roblin is a Co-Investigator for the Impact of Health Promotion Programs on
MCO Family Health project, which is assessing how psychosocial circumstances
and worksite characteristics affect employees' health. He is also a
Co-Investigator on the HMO Research Network's CERT II program, which conducts
pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics research projects across 9 managed
care organizations. He was the lead investigator on a CERT I project, which
analyzed the impact of medication cost-sharing increases on use of oral
hypoglycemics.
Dr. Roblin served as the Principal Investigator for an Improving Chronic Illness
Care Initiative project, which evaluated an interactive voice recognition and
response system for collecting data from patients with congestive heart
failure. He also served as Co-Investigator for the Organization Culture,
Workforce Characteristics, and Quality of Care in a Primary Care Practice,
which examined the associations between organizational culture, workforce
characteristics, and quality of care in a managed care organization. Dr. Roblin
holds a PhD in Anthropology from the University of Michigan and a MA in
Anthropology from the University of Chicago. He serves as a manuscript reviewer
for various peer-reviewed journals, including American Journal of Managed Care
and Medical Care.
Dr. Roblin served on the Editorial Committee for the Journal of Quality
Improvement and participated on the steering committee for the American
Diabetes Association's Diabetes Physician Recognition Program from 1998-2004.
In addition to his position at CHR, Dr. Roblin is also an Adjunct Assistant
Professor in Health Policy and Management in the Rollins School of Public
Health at Emory University.
