What's New - New CHR Investigator

International Dental Researcher Joins Center for Health Research

(PORTLAND, Ore.) – Dr. Gerardo Maupomé, a dental researcher who has studied and worked in Mexico, England, and Canada, recently joined Kaiser Permanente Center for Health Research/Northwest and Hawaii (CHR) as an Investigator in Dental Research. He is located at CHR's main research facility in North Portland.

Dr. Maupomé received his dental degree in 1985 from the Universidad Nacional in Mexico City. He earned a master’s degree in experimental oral pathology in 1986 and a Ph.D. in public health in 1991 from the University of London. He has held teaching and research positions on the faculties of Universidad Nacional and Universidad Tecnológica in Mexico City. From 1995 to 2000 he was assistant professor in the Division of Preventive and Community Health, Department of Oral Health Sciences, at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC.(If you'd like to read more, see the news release in PDF.)
