- Dr. Robert G. Evans is a health economist whose research and
writings have led to his recognition as the leading health economist in
Canada and one of the half dozen or so most prominent in the world.
He spoke at the annual Saward Lecture, sponsored by Kaiser Permanente
Center for Health Research. Evans spoke Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the Newmark Theatre of the Portland Center for the Performing Arts. He offered his views on the cost of preserving privilege in American health care. An audio tape was made of his presentation and transcribed: Evans Lecture.
