Managed Care Impact on People with Significant Physical and Mental Disabilities —COMPASS

This study compared patterns of access, satisfaction, and use for non-aged Medicare disabled beneficiaries enrolled in HMOs with those who receive care from the fee-for-service sector. Center for Health Research created a database on eligibility and utilization for Medicare non-aged disabled members of Kaiser Permanente Northwest for 1991-1995 and a database on all KPNW Medicare non-aged disabled members containing information on health status, chronic diseases, satisfaction with care, and perceptions of access.
