Cancer Research Network: HMOs Investigating Tobacco—HIT2

This study develops methods for assessing individual physician adherence to tobacco treatment guidelines at multiple HMOs using two types of electronic medical records, evaluates the short-term effects of providing tobacco cessation performance feedback on physician practice patterns, recording tobacco cessation services in electronic medical records systems, and using these data to evaluate treatment guideline adherence.
