HMO Research Network Cardiovascular Research Network—CVRN

David H. Smith, Principal Investigator
Suma Vupputuri, Co–Investigator

Creates a Cardiovascular Research Network among members of the HMO Research Network to collaborate on research studies that will provide more robust cardiovascular disease (CVD) health care surveillance than is currently available. It promotes research on clinical practice and quality of care, assesses new diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, and evaluates clinical guidelines and their impact on CVD incidence, prevalence, clinical care, and patient outcomes over time. A subproject, focusing on implantable cardiac devices is supported in the final two years of the project.
Funding source: National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute
