About r-Kids

r-Kids is a study that includes parents of children ages 3-17. If you take part in the study, you will fill out 3 surveys. Once you join the study you can take the first survey right away. We will contact you about 4 months later to fill out the second survey, and again about 4 months after that to fill out the last survey. After you complete each survey we will send you a gift card to thank you for your participation. You will receive $30 for the first survey, $40 for the second survey, and $50 for the third survey. You will be able to choose between an Amazon e-gift card or a Target store gift card. Questions will ask about the time you spend caring for your children’s health and the money you spend related to medical care and other health services to help manage your children’s health or chronic health conditions.

The information you give us will provide health systems and policymakers with a better understanding of the time and costs involved in caring for children’s health. This information could help to improve health care policies and lead to better care for all children.

The r-Kids study is made possible by a grant from the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Frances Lynch is the principal investigator of the study.

Where is the r-Kids study happening?

Parents from Kaiser Permanente Hawaii, Kaiser Permanente Northern California, Kaiser Permanente Northwest, and the OCHIN network of community clinics are being asked to join the study.
